Poverty Declines Slightly in Latin America and the Caribbean, in Spite of Global Financial Crisis

The number of people in poverty in Latin America dropped in 2008, although these improvements will be difficult to sustain due to forthcoming economic recession, according to a new report by the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
