<description>1a. What types of policies have these governments taken on to in order to avoid the lure of cheap imports?

1b. Because the threat of imports remains a reality, do the countries in question have the technological knowledge to create such policy?

1c. If not, is there anyone assisting them in creating these policies? Is corruption (and other barriers to effective policy making) being adequately addressed?

2. Despite the lost of domestic agriculture, are these former farmers being supported through adequate policy measures to shift their skills/labor into other useful efforts? How can improved technology support these endeavors?

2a. What lessons can be learned from the similar flee from agricultural endeavors that occurred in the western world post-World War II?
